Progr Bern

After different experiences with traditional music and contemporary music, Projet Ohr decided to create a space where cultures coexist, world music, folklore, learning methods: oral and written, academic or ancestral, with the aim of documenting, encouraging and proposing new spaces where the cultural and musical background of the participants is "highlighted".

it's like stories about places that no longer exist

stories that were dreamed or that seemed real

they are sketches of how we imagine things

it's like a book with little stories

we unfold it, examine it, immerse ourselves in it and move in it

my task is just to tell stories well

  • Natalia Garcia & Román Carvajal

“Ventanas que no cierran” propose to open the walls of a place, an opportunity to see and hear parallel realities, situations that happen far from us, not only geographically, but far in the sense of how we can or not, ignore these situations. Through different videos, some of them live from other places, we intend to create a link with the other, the one who is far away but perhaps in front or by your side.

The aim of the project is to make the discussion of current social matters accessible and visible to a broader public and to open a dialogue on cultural, social, and political issues. We try to use the sound in all its physical dimension and entire spectrum and turn it into colors that dye the reality we are looking through the windows (walls)

  • Kandaleko

The collective Kandaleko is a music group based in Switzerland sharing the traditional music of the Colombian Caribbean coast. Music called gaita, it consists of flute drums and traditional songs. A music filled with a strong message coming from the heart, from the history, from the traditions. A rhythm and an energy so strong that it is difficult to remain static!

  • Paula Sanchez

    Effacement/Borradura

Concert performance for voice, glass and samples.

Glass is a transparent material, a sharp and breakable material. What happens to sound when it passes through glass?

Images get distorted through transparent layers.

Grains on the surface, cracked and broken, friccions and deformations.

This will be an attempt to erase the I of a voice, the sound scars of an image that has been erased. And try to re-appropriate the mutable qualities of the body and the sef.

Because in its state of pure presence, sound is unaware of its history.

  • Marie Delprat

    Destoyed Cielo

It is this interpretative dimension of the memory, its systematic reappropriation by the individual who is the only holder of it, that matters to the musician/composer Marie Delprat.

The method could almost be assimilated to documentary (recordings of conversations, voices, words from different "memoriers"/memory holders) to make a sound collage which is not only singular, specific to an individual, but which exceeds this field, to turn to the universal. To make palpable this passage of the memory, of the memory, to a constant reappropriation, moving of this last by the being. The border between memory and imaginary, memory and dream blurs...

The composition is inspired by Jacques Derrida: "To make the imperceptible sensitive, the invisible audible". The sound material is based on an evolving dissonant harmony of drone sounds, resonances, low frequency noises. Marie Delprat works with analog synthesizers as well as with her own voice, the central element of the musical composition. The use of feedbacks through input-free mixers produces fluid and sub-frequent sounds, difficult to control, which are key tools for a new construction of the soundscape.

  • Luis Sanz

    Obfuscated Memories

Computer Sounds, Field Recordings Multiple Speakers

Obfuscated Memories explores Peruvian sound imaginaries through field recordings and their transformation by means of electronic instruments to assert a hybrid narrative. It aims for an ambiguous image, seeks association and dissociation, presenting an unhinged narration through electronic elements and processed soundscapes.

  • Simon Walker

    Simon Walker

  • Projet Ohr

    Perpetuom

    Two performers and amplified percussion,

    Technique, speed, precision, efficiency, work

Sound textures, colors, organisation, movement, flow

Our impulses give life to mechanical movements in order to create a sound atmosphere, a sounding robot and a living mobile. Starts a relationship between the machine and the musicians.
